Monday 13 Feb 2012.

Motored back to Santa Cruz Island, this time on the North-West coast to visit Cerro Dragon. It was quite a muddy walk with lots of land iguanas and 3 flamingos. In the afternoon we motored across to Santiago Island (San Salvador) and anchored in Sullivan Bay. We went snorkelling from the panga and had a walk over the lava fields where the lava was in fantastic formations of folds and swirls – looking like fine silk ripples, or braids of rope laid out to dry. The eruption was in 1890 but still very little growing there due to lack of water.
