The Galloping Grandma is off on another Adventure - this time to the Galapagos Islands (on the Equator off the coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean) and the Amazon Rain Forest!! A 20-day holiday incorporating a 2-week cruise around the 'Enchanted Isles' in an elegant two-masted Topsail Schooner (without ever having to lift a finger in the Galley!), a visit to Antisana (all that snow and no skis!), plus a 4-day extension to the Amazon Jungle....... me and spiders?????

Saturday 11 Feb 2012.
Anchored in Garder Bay, Espanola Island, went walking on the coral sand beach and snorkelling at Gardner Island. We motored to the other end of the island at Suarez Point and had a reasonably difficult walk but saw a nesting warbler finch. While snorkelling saw Damsel Fish, Yellow-Tailed Surgeon Fish and some small sting-rays, as well as the ever-present sea-lions swimming with us.
I got stung or bitten on my right foot and it was quite red and swollen, though not painful, however, during the night the inside of my bottom lip was very swollen (I thought I was getting a cold sore). It went down after about 2 hrs after putting anti-histamine cream on my foot and taking an anti-histamine tablet
given me by S-J.
